Talent Search for Soccer

As the game of football ("soccer") becomes more and more popular, the search for talent becomes an industry in itself. Rob Hughes, one of my favorite soccer writers, writes about it for International Herald Tribune. He tells the story of Pele and the recent Galaxy tryouts at $130 per participant. Two were chosen from 800 participants.

Some Wednesday evenings, after a long day of meetings, I'm playing soccer in Sunnyvale.

Tuesdays are my lunch-hour soccer day in the MPK campus of Sun Microsystems Inc.
